Far: Lone Sails is a vehicle adventure game. You play a little guy manning a giant vehicle as you make your way through the ruins of Joe Biden’s America…. Ok that joke wrote itself. Seriously though, this game came out during the Trump Administration. Hmm… You make your way through the ruins of a dead civilization on this machine. There are two ways to power it, through energy items you pick up and feed into the machine, and sails you can raise. Occasionally, you come to a blockage, and you walk around to push a button or two to clear it and move on. That’s pretty much Far: Lone Sails.

Far: Lone Sails is somber!

I’ll be honest, I got stuck in a storm later on, far away from anything. I had no energy and the sails useless. There was no energy anywhere, so I gave up. I guess I was supposed to save more energy early on for later. Still, I enjoyed the journey I did take as long as it lasted. Far: Lone Sails is a somber adventure and revels in solitude. You are supposed to feel alone, and you do. The game play isn’t amazing, but Far: Lone Sails is one of the games where the mood is the star. This came out on PC in 2018 and made its way to Switch in 2019. There is a sequel that I’ll get around to reviewing. While I got stuck here, I will recommend this game.

Overall: Far: Lone Sails is a somber, solo journey through the ruins of a dead civilization, that is worth a ride!

Verdict: Recommended
