I admit it, I’m mostly terrible at video games. But there are reasons for it. I’m autistic, with poor visual acuity and fine motor skill issues. I make it up however, with my extensive gaming knowledge and ability to tell you if a game is good or not in ten minutes of playing(you’d be surprised how often I’m on the money). I played Alien Death Mob for a lot longer than 10 minutes, and it is an exquisite twin stick shooter with the fair budget price of five dollars. I kind of stink at it, but its not because the game is bad, but because the game is that darn good. Its not fancy, or deep, but man is it fun! Let’s get into Alien Death Mob!

Alien Death Mob has two modes, Story and Arcade. Story mode is simple, aliens have invaded Earth and over thirty levels spanning the globe, you will fight a surprising number of varied enemies. Each level is divided into three waves. Power-ups will drop that you will need to collect. These power-ups will be various weaponry there for a limited time. Shields will drop from enemies, also useful. The most important thing are the treasures, which spawn for only a few seconds. These increase the score multiplier that you will use to hit the score targets needed to get stars. These stars unlock new levels. Before I forget, right before you die, you enter “bullet-time” where time slows and if you think quick, you can survive.

Arcade mode in Alien Death Mob gives you three recreations of classic arcade games. Robotron, Space Invaders and Berserk. These three games are surprisingly competent and fun, and hold there own in the overall package. My favorite is the Space Invaders clone, but again, all are good!

Alien Death Mob isn’t a complex game. It isn’t that deep. But it is well made and fun. I’ll give this a Must Play because for its price, and what it offers for that price, it is awesome!
Overall: Alien Death Mob is an awesome twin-stick shooter with two great modes, all for five dollars.
Verdict: Must Play
