Before you play Smashy Road: Wanted 2, I want you to do the following: 1. Go to your favorite music streaming service. 2. Put on Bad Boys by Inner Circle. 3. Now play! That song is of course the theme to the long-running show COPS and is a perfect theme to this game. You see, Smashy Road: Wanted 2 is you are being chased by the police, in vehicles, on foot, and in a boat, and you see how long you can last. It’s really a mobile game that was ported over to the Switch, but it didn’t lose any of its charm. I’ve given out a lot of Must Plays this week, Alien Death Mob, Gunman Clive HD Collection, and now we have our third. Hey, its better than the weeks I give out majority Garbage verdicts, which have happened. Anyways, I really love this, it it is simple and fun.

In Smashy Road: Wanted 2 you start in a vehicle, with cops chasing you. The longer you last the more your wanted level goes up, and the more cops and tougher cops show up, Eventually you will lose, but its fun to see how long you can last. You can get out of cars by pressing X and running around, which is critical when you want to get on boat and go to a different map(which the prodceduraly generated map is made up of). Occasionally, a helicopter will come by and drop a power-up, like faster running or vehicle durability. Cash will be also be strewn about, which you need to pick up to use the slot machine, which will get you new characters, vehicles and upgrades. The ESRB Rating for Smashy Road Wanted 2 lists “in-app purchases” but I honestly couldn’t find where they were.

In a lot of way, Smashy Road: Wanted 2 has hints of old-school GTA(pre-GTA 3). It has music in the vehicles, but none out, and other little touches. However, being a mobile transplant, there are the requisite missions to complete which net you additional cash. In this end, Smashy: Road Wanted 2 is just plain old fun. Its not deep at all, but that’s not really the point as this is basically an arcade game. Enjoy it anyway.
Overall: Smashy Road: Wanted 2 is just plain fun, and not much more, but it doesn’t have to be.
Verdict: Must Play
