10 second ninja x title card

Thalamus Digital turned down my request on Press Engine for a key to review this two-year-old game. I don’t normally ask for keys, I like buying the games as it keeps me honest. I like saying exactly how I feel without regards to future access. But I was intrigued by this one. I review two sets of stuff, new releases, and older games that have fallen deep into the slush pile. 10 Second Ninja X falls into the latter category. So I went and bought it anyway. I And guess what? it’s a good game! I enjoyed my time with it and will fully Recommend it.

10 Second Ninja X greatbeard

In 10 Second Ninja X, the evil Greatbeard has kidnapped all your forest friends and turned them all into robots. To rescue them, you mean defeat all enemies on the stage in ten seconds or less. There is a defined path the developers want you to take each level, which can be revealed by spending a limited number of hint coins. On each level, you can jump, double jump, use your sword, or throw one of three shurikens. Figuring out when to throw them is the key to beating each level. There are one hundred plus levels spread over eleven game worlds. Things start simple and get more complicated as things go on, as more complexities are thrown in.

It is very doable.

There’s a lot to 10 Second Ninja X. Plenty of levels, an easier difficulty, other costumes to unlock, as well as secret minigames. Despite each stage being 10 seconds long, there is a fair amount here to enjoy. I’m glad I bought 10 Second Ninja X anyway despite being denied. It deserves to come out of the slush pile once again, and be enjoyed.

Overall: 10 Second Ninja X is a fun action/puzzle game with lots to discover and enjoy.

Verdict: Recommended
