Hot Blood wants to be a scaled down Dead Rising with a hot chick. You are a hot chick in a mall, trying on a bra. Zombies attack. You got through 30 different areas looking for your boyfriend. In each area, you kill the zombies… and that’s it. Unlike dead rising, there aren’t a horde of zombies, rather a trickle. Also, there are normal zombies, and special zombies. The four special zombies are: a fat female zombie, a tall female zombie with claws, a buff male zombie with dumbbells, and a male zombie with a shotgun. By the time you hit the hunting store, where the hunting zombies are introduced, you’ve seen all the game will throw at you, and the monotony really takes over, as its just a matter of finishing out the areas.

At your disposal in Hot Blood are a variety of punches, kicks, low spin kicks, and dodging. Also, you can pick up certain objects and throw them at enemies. Certain areas will give special weapons, including a chainsaw and a gun. Unfortunately, the game plays horribly. For example, Punches and kicks must complete their animations, so often you’re swinging at nothing at all. Reviving health via soda suffers the same problem. Later on, you’ll get ganged up on by special zombies and often mauled to death before you can do anything. As a result, Hot Blood simply is not fun to play at all. Not to mention that your main character spouts the same one liners over and over again, and gets annoying real fast.

Finally, there is a leveling system in Hot Blood. Every time you level up it says you get new punches and kicks. I don’t think there are any. It does unlock the ability to buy new outfits to kill zombies in, but the graphics are so ugly, its almost not even worth it. In the end, this game is functional, and will take about an hour or so to complete, if that. However, the game is so awful, I don’t think its worth sitting through it. This gets a Not Recommended Verdict with a four back end score. If you must kill zombies in a Bikini, there are better options out there.
Overall: Hot Blood is a game where you kill zombies in a bikini. It is ugly and simply not fun at all to play. Try Onechanbara or Lollipop Chainsaw instead.
