Steamboat Wille went public domain, so some company called MBA international thought they were slick. They’d make a crappy steamboat game with horrendous controls called Steamboat Rescue and drop it onto the unsuspecting public. Well, I am here to review it. And after playing it, I do not recommend playing it because of those horrible controls. In fact, here is a video to demonstrate. Play attention to the meter on the lower right, it is the only thing that matters. If it is on the left side, you turn left. If it is on the right side, you turn right.
So what can we learn from this video of Steamboat Rescue? The controls are bad, and this is Easy Mode, where the controls are more forgiving, On Normal, you have three lives and controls are harder. And on Hard, you have one life and the controls are toughest. Now you have two methods of control, the stick, and rotating the joycon(if you’re playing on a TV). I didn’t attempt the joycons method, and don’t need to because the meter is all that matters.

Beyond the controls, Steamboat Rescue is pretty bad. The animals in the water are 2d sprites as I think are the rocks and wood. I think only the steamboat is 3d, but I could be wrong. The music gets annoying, as does the occasional whistling. The developers thought this was good for some reason and charged six dollars for it. It is not even worth half that. Therefore I give Steamboat Rescue a Garbage with a two rating. Maybe I’m being a little harsh. However, they ripped off Steamboat Willie and are using that to sell a bucket of crap, so they get what they get.
Overall: Steamboat Rescue is a knock-off Steamboat Willie game with none of the charm of the cartoon. It is only a cash garb!
Verdict: Garbage
