Osman Gazi

Osman I .or Osman Gazi, was the real life founder of the Ottoman Empire, which would go on to rule the Middle East for centuries, a pretty big deal historically. Unfortunately there is very little known about his life and much that there is, is thought to be myth. A developer with talent and a budget could create a great game about a person we know little about, from a perspective alien to westerners. Urumo is not that developer. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think this was created by Midnight Works. It is utter trash. And as customary with many bad games, here’s a video of it in action:

You learn nothing about Osman Gazi, nothing about the time and the place. You just run around following the prompt and the blips on the minimap. Sometimes you kill Byzantines, sometimes you kill thieves. The game will tell you to get on your horse. But you can then get off and run around on foot, it doesn’t matter. None of this is interesting or engaging. It is just busy work for the sake of it. You get ten gold at the end of every level, which you can use to upgrade your equipment. Not sure it matters.

Osman Gazi could have been, should have been something great. It is garbage and not worth anyone’s time or money. I don’t even know what I thinking buying it as it looked like crap from the provided screenshots. The menus don’t even work right, using the touch screen only, while the actual game is play with the joycons. Osman I deserves better, and so do you. Osman Gazi gets a Garbage with a two back-end score.

The action adventure game you’ve been looking for!

Not i its not, shut up marketing blurb!

Overview: Osman Gazi, a real and important historical figure, deserves better than this utter trash that bears his name.

Verdict: Garbage
