I was purposely avoiding Midnight Works titles after the editorial I wrote on them. Then I saw Mom Simulator 2023, and got Deja Vu. Something seemed familiar about it… oh right, I reviewed another Midnight Works title called Virtual Mom. Both this and Virtual Mom are essentially do x, then y, then z. However, in Mom Simulator there doesn’t seem to be any progression towards something, or the match 3 levels. It’s simply the same dozen boring tasks over and over again, just in 3D. Yes, you now exist in a 3D house that is not terribly rendered, so it has to be an asset flip of some kind. They didn’t create this themselves. I’ll guarantee that.
Mom Simulator consists of various tasks, like feed the baby, or make breakfast, or change the babies diaper. If you want to make breakfast, you take eggs from the fridge individually, and put them in the pan. Then you take the plates from the kitchen individually, and put them on the table. Finally, you take the pan and and put the eggs on the plates. Congratulations, now onto the next task. You’ll go upstairs, take off the babies diaper, and put on the fresh one. Then the day will end with you picking up and taking out the trash. Then the next day you will repeat most of the same tasks, over and over again until you get bored of Mom Simulator and quit.
Yes, life is a series of thankless tasks that need to be done, over and over again. I don’t want to take the dog out several times a day, but it is something I must do. I don’t want thankless tasks from a game, especially not Mom Simulator by Midnight Works. There is no reason to play this game. Its pure monotony. Sure it looks ok(except for the baby) but the developers did not make any of the assets used. I’ve also heard the music in other Midnight Works games. All the developers did was make probably the most boring thing ever. Mom simulator has less value than the dirty diaper you take off the baby. Stay far away from this.
Overall: Mom Simulator 2023 is a series a thankless tasks over and over again. Pure monotony!
