I say in the rules I avoid free to play games. This is an exception since I love pinball games and Zaccaria Pinball is going in my regular game rotation.
Now, Zaccaria Pinball was a manufacturer of real pinball tables from the 1960s through the 1980s. This is a collection of those tables, with a ton of new tables based on the old ones thrown in. Many of these are products of their time, and as a result, are simpler and/or harder than something you’ll find in say, Zen Pinball.
Don’t except complexity, or an easy time with many of these tables. Keep in mind they were made to pump quarters into. However, they are still fun to play, and come with a ridiculous array of options to tweak your play.
There are tons of tables here, ranging from the retro tables(which 27 can be bought together right now for $1.99) to the their later ones, to remade tables with modern aesthetics and sensibilities. Getting all of them will cost you a bit, but you really can’t go wrong with the later real tables or the remade ones IMO if pinball is your thing.
Honestly, I’ve ran across Zaccaria Pinball before, but passed on it. Now I’m going to keep it and have some pinball fun.
Now before I go, I will address a contradiction. In my Wild and Adventure Pinball review, I slam it for the tables not being complex and interesting, essentially not being Zen Pinball. Here I seen to enjoy the simple tables, fine with it not being Zen Pinball. Trust me, even the retro tables here are more interesting than anything in Wild & Adventure Pinball.
Overall: Zaccaria Pinball is a blast from Pinball’s past
