Dark Dungeon Warrior by SAT-BOX is a simple but surprisingly fun little arcade game, where your goal is to kill as many monsters as you can under three minutes for a high score. That’s it, that’s the game. You can play with others online or locally, but it’s fine solo. You have five character skins and five maze-like dungeons to choose from.

There’s a catch in Dark Dungeon Warrior though; rather, two catches. The first is your first weapon breaks after ten hits. Fortunately, monsters drop weapons, or you can find them lying around. Pick them up with the X button. There will be either melee or ranged weapons, but they have limited uses as well. This keeps you on your toes, and you constantly have to change tactics. The second catch is the three missions you have to complete. Usually, the first two are always kill fifteen monsters and pick up ten weapons. The third varies from killing a boss to killing multiple enemies at once. If you fail them, you don’t get the extra score you would if you passed.

There is only one complaint about Dark Dungeon Warrior, and it’s this:

I’m oh-so close to writing an editorial begging indie developers to proofread their games. It’s so simple, but so important!
Regardless, Dark Dungeon Warrior is a simple game. It doesn’t try to be anything more than it is. It’s just a game where you kill monsters for three minutes while trying to get higher on the leaderboard. Sometimes, it’s better for small developers to aim low and score a bullseye, and they definitely hit one here, as I had fun.
Overall: Dark Dungeon Warrior is simple game where you kill monsters for three minutes. I had lots of fun! Recommended!
Verdict: Recommended
P.S. Try Dungeons and Tales!
