Monster Truck Freestyle sucks. I could end the review here, but it needs some elaboration. You see, Monster Truck Freestyle has seven modes, all of them suck. Practice is you drive around the standard track, and that’s it. Racing is racing a stupid AI opponent around the track, and that’s it. Flying Circus is seeing how far you stay in the air in that one track. Time Trail is seeing how fast you can drive around the one track. Now Bowling is interesting. You fling your monster truck off of a ramp and knock down pins. It’s not completely broken, but not even mediocre either. Soccer is just that, playing soccer with monster trucks, and its broken(more on that later). Hockey is playing ice hockey with monster trucks, except the controls are even worse than they already were.
Monster Truck Freestyle is particularly awful because the controls are just atrocious. You don’t feel like a monster truck. Making any kind of turn will flip you over or you’ll go spinning into walls. There’s no weight behind you, it’s like you are on ice. And when you on ice, there are no controls, good luck going where you want. The controls make every mode a chore, including Soccer. I never hit one goal while the AI was hitting goal after goal after goal. And ice hockey, I never touched the puck(a wheel).
There’s coins you can earn in various modes to get new trucks, but I don’t care. It’s all terrible and pointless. The game doesn’t seem to be by Midnight works. Rather it seems to be by one guy named Punk Jozsef. Being by one guy doesn’t make a game bad, heck there are good games largely by one person(Tents and Trees or Molecano for example). This is not one of them. Steer clear of Monster Truck Freestyle, it might as well be a scam game with how poor it is.
Overall: Monster Truck Freestyle is painfully bad and not worth going near with a ten foot pole.
