9 RIP

I did it again!I picked a game not made for me. 9 Rip is an Otome game, a story based game for a female audience. I thought this was going to be some ultra-violent gritty visual novel. No! From what I played, it’s a harem visual novel with dudes. A guardian spirit, a spirit board spirit and a femboy tengu are following you around. And you are high-school senior named Misa(or whatever you want). You have a career survey you have to do, and a mother who wants you to go to medical school. The game is rated T, so I don’t think they’ll be naughty stuff, but I already see the romance coming awhile away(eight different options).

I can visualize the straight guy version in my head.

9 RIP appears to be well made game. Nice art and full acting, even from non-hunks. The game is also fairly big. From what I gather from the blurb, the game can veer off in completely different directions depending on your choices. Its just that I’m a heterosexual male. This was not made for me. I am not the best one to judge a game like this, especially when I feel my brain leaking out my ears at points. It’s not that I’m opposed to romance. One of my favorite books is a romance between a trucker and a genetically enhanced super solider, called Driven. It’s just that 9 RIP isn’t my type of romance.

I’m sure this hunky ghost has a tragic backstory only you can heal.

But I said I’d review it on Keymailer, so I will! I give 9 Rip the Moonless Moon treatment. This will get a Your Mileage May Vary Verdict with an eight back-end score. If you’re a woman who loves Otome, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this.

Overall: 9 RIP is well made Otome game that women who like this sort of stuff will definitely enjoy a lot more than I did, at any rate.

Verdict: YMMV
