Pod Jam

I was so demoralized at the end of last year at the endless stream of garbage, I wanted to honestly quit. The pivot to Steam was an attempt to save the site, but it really did not work. I became addicted to City of Heroes Homecoming(link to main forum), and that’s where I’ve been for the last three weeks. But now I am back with a review of Pod Jam, which I have been to write because of Keymailer requirements, but if I did not have to write it today, who knows when I’d be back. Pod Jam itself is a largely inoffensive puzzle game that will entertain some for the time it lasts. Honestly, there’s not much to say about it, but I’ll try to say it all.

Pod Jam is played with the touch screen. The button controls for some reason don’t work and you cannot select a pod other than the first, but the touchscreen is fine to play. Your goal is to get all the pods off the board. In your way are several arrows that will move you ship in one direction or another when the pod hits the arrow. One arrow with move in the direction it points when you go. Another will flip the direction your pod will move when your ship goes by.A third will turn on and off the movement. Pod Jam starts off easy, but gets complicated fast. However, despite having a hundred levels, no new mechanics get introduced. All that changes is more pods get added.

level 100

As I said, there’s not much to say about Pod Jam. It is there. It is fine, though It was to me not extremely engaging. However, you can get this if it seems interesting to you. This gets a Your Mileage May Vary with a seven back-end score.

Overall: Pod Jam is a fine puzzle game for what it is, though don’t go in expecting some five-star classic, because it isn’t.

Verdict: Your Mileage May Vary(YMMV)
