Tap Wizard 2 is an idle game, meaning you don’t really play it. You set up your spells, runes, conduct research and do other things, but the main thrust of game play is done for you. It is like an auto-battler like Vampire Survivors. You can move your cursor around and tap the A button to send your wizard around the map, but its not really necessary, and doesn’t guarantee survival. In fact, the only thing that guarantee survival is time, either in game or out. You can get stuff for not even playing the game. When you open it, you’ve got more more gold, experience, and other progression items. But it’ll take you a long, long time to get anywhere.
I could go in depth into the individual mechanics of Tap Wizard 2, like research, or the various items. I won’t for the sake of brevity and the fact none of it really matters in the long haul, its all just busy work to get to the ultimate goal: do nothing. What I’m saying is, I’ve never gotten the idle genre, which has been around for years. They even predate smart phones. There was a parody of MMOs where the game played itself in the early 00s. But why do you want a game where you don’t play it, and the numbers just go up for you? To me I just don’t get it. But the game has other issues the prevent recommendation other than me not getting the appeal. If that were the only problem, I would give it a YMMV with an eight back-end score. But this game ain’t getting that. Not even close.
What actually kills Tap Wizard 2 is actually the price, $14.99. It is free on Steam. That’s right, there’s the pesky Switch tax. There’s no point in playing on Switch a game that’s free elsewhere. They didn’t even change the control scheme, you have to play with the cursor, the game was made for the PC and minimal changes were made in translation. Therefore, the controls are really clunky. I will slap Tap Wizard 2 with a big fat Not Recommended with a five back-end score. The game itself is fine for idler I guess, but don’t charge fifteen dollars for a game that’s free everywhere else, and make no changes on top of that.
Overall: Being an idle game aside, Tap Wizard 2 is $15 on the Switch when its free everywhere else. Avoid it on Switch for that reason alone.

Game is ass, genre of the game is ass, and game shouldn’t cost anything as it isn’t even worth your time. I concur that if anyone is even mildly interested in trying this game they should get it on Steam for FREE because at least that way they won’t feel bad they deleted a game they paid money for.
