Touhou Yukkuri Mountain

Touhou Yukkuri Mountain is a 3D Suika Game where you toss anime girl heads into a bowl, and is based on Touhou Project. Two of the same heads merge into a larger head. Game continues until a head rolls out. You can adjust side to side around the bowl and how far into the bowl you throw the head. Touhou Yukkuri Mountain is not the first of its kind. The was something called Fruit Mountain by the same publisher a few years ago.

There are 30 Yukkuri to chose from in Touhou Yukkuri Mountain. You start with 11 and unlock the other 19 with coins you win after every game. The cost goes up every time you buy a head, which stretches things out. Also, you can customize the play heads with any of the unlocked ones, which is cool. Two Yukkari give a running conversation as you play, but its in Japanese and I have no idea what they’re saying. It also sounds like its vocaloid and not voice actors, which is interesting.

Touhou Yukkuri Mountain gets a Recommended Verdict with an eight score. Why does it get not a Must Play when Sushi Shot got one? Its been two years and loads of competitors have come out, the concept is not as fresh as it once was. Plus even the 3d nature of it was done before. It also helps if you like Touhou Project, because I have no idea whats going on(there’s an opening video) or what they’re saying. Still, if you want more Suika game, you cannot go wrong with this title. Finally, there is a Switch and Switch 2 version of Touhou Yukkuri Mountain, same game with a graphical upgrade for two extra bucks. Whether or not you want it, is up to you.

Overall: Touhou Yukkuri Mountain is a 3D Suika Game and fun to play. Just that the concept is not as fresh as it once was years ago.

Verdict: Recommended

Score: Eight
