Crystal Chip Collector is a game I desperately wanted to like and give a great verdict too. But I literally can’t because I don’t have the hand-eye coordination to do it. You see, the game is a rapid series of ten stage blocks. On each stage, you have twenty second to map the correct path through the level to collect all the chips of all present colors. While you can practice the levels outside of the story, I find it doesn’t really help me much. You have to be that precise and good to get through Crystal Chip Collector, and I just can’t manage it. I died, died and died again. I messed up stages I’ve played a ton of times. I got to the third world and decided the game was not for me.
This not to say Crystal Chip Collector is a bad game, quite the opposite, it is quite good. The presentation is exquisite, and the story linking everything together is quite humorous. This kid finds out his favorite game got upgraded and so he needs to faster computer. Using a summoning spell he found on the internet, he summons an “install wizard” and a cat and they volunteer to help the kid speed up his computer. You play as the cat and are the one who collects the chips. Also, the levels themselves look good with interesting designs. Music is also pretty good too.
Crystal Chip Collector is a good title that requires speed and precision I just don’t have. And that’s fine. But you should definitely check this out if you’re looking for a good, budget challenge. This game will get an YMMV with a seven back end score.
Overall: I’m not fast enough for Crystal Chip Collector e, a decent, blazing fast puzzle platformer. But you might!
Verdict: YMMV
