2023/2024: Best and Worst of the Game Slush Pile’s 2nd Year

2023/2024

Well another year has come to a close for The Game Slush Pile. And the site is doing quite well and still growing. In 2023/2024, I went from barely any hits to hundreds a day. I’;’m also began to get noticed and get game codes as well. As far as the future goes, as I type this, the site is getting a refreshed look. And when the Switch 2 comes out, I’ll try and get one and move on over. But you’re not here to see me drone on, you’re here for the lists. Well, let’s count them down.

Top 3 Worst Games of 2023/2024:

#3 Hentai Girls Office Romance

Hentai Girls Office Romance accepts the award on behalf of the entire series. Pakotime’s Hentai Girls series is emblematic of the problems facing the eShop. Cheap shitty cash grabs with no game play. And the insidious part is, they’re still releasing games as we speak. I wish people would wise up and stop buying their games, but I guess the promise of anime titties is too great to ignore.

#2 Basketball Anime Girls

Basketball Anime Girls

Basketball Anime Girls was just plain bad, with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. They used cute anime girls to lure you in, and then have you play a horrible, horrible game that left me mentally scarred for life.

#1 The Love: Date Simulator with Girls

The Love – Date Simulator wasn’t a game. It was a scam because the entire damn game didn’t work. It billed itself as an AI chat simulator, except there was no AI chat. It was all a lie to bilk you out of your money. Shame on Dezvolt Games /Midnight Works. You suck and I hope go out of business!

Top 3 Best Games of the Year!

Honorable Mention: Unicorn Overlord

Unicorn Overlord

I said in the review that this would get #1, well it is not really an indie game, so I’m not going to put it officially in the list. Still an awesome SRPG anyways.

#3 Trinity Fusion

Trinity Fusion

Occasionally I get things wrong. Most people would complain that I got Tomba! wrong. Well the game I actually kick myself over is Trinity Fusion, which should have gotten a Must Play verdict, but didn’t. So I’m making it up by placing it on this list. It really is a very good game that is worth people’s time and effort. I played it for weeks afterwards because it is that damn good.

#2 My Lovely Empress

My Lovely Empress

I loved this game. It’s dark undertones compliment the buttery smooth strategy. Not perfect by any stretch, its proof that something can be greater than the sum of its parts. Now I just wish people would buy this… Here’s is the eShop Link!

#1 Balatro

Balatro

Balatro is awesome. It also sold two million copies. In fact, this is probably the only game in this article you’ve heard of. Its success is well warranted though. Its basically digital crack. If you haven’t gotten this, what are you waiting for? Get yourself addicted!

And that wraps up this years lists for 2023/2024. Lets hope even more awesome stuff drops in year three!
