Besiege

Ultimate Games is not the greatest publisher. For every Sphereout, you have stinkers like Town Adventure. Then a Besiege code showed up randomly in my inbox. Apparently Ultimate Games found my email and put me on their mailing list. Thank the lord this is a good game, cause it legitimately is. The best way to describe is a less structured Lego Bricktales. There you use Lego bricks to solve puzzles, like build a bridge. Here you make machines to destroy, kill, and also solves puzzles. In Besiege, you have an assortment of various parts to use to make your machines, from weaponry to flying parts. Every piece is available to start, and you can make it how you want.

I need to blow up the castle, somehow.

Beseige was not developed by Ultimate Games SA, it was done by Spiderling Studios. They released it on Steam four years ago and built it up since and delivered it to consoles. For the reason, the game is polished. Building your machines is easy and intuitive, and everything is explained well. There are even special tutorials on how to pick up objects or make them fly. But don’t think the game is easy, it is not. It will require trial and error to build the correct machine for the job.

Besiege
The UI is great.

Now what score and verdict should Besiege get? There’s a lot here and it comes together nicely. Therefore, I can’t believe I’m saying this, an Ultimate Games-published game gets a Must Play Verdict with nine back-end score. Besiege is a delightful game that will challenge even the best builders. Now if Ultimate Games can continue publishing games like this, that would be great….

Overall: Besiege is a delightful builder-game that will challenge you to build the right machine for the job.

Verdict: Must Play
